Seeking Justice for Elder Financial Abuse
Elder financial abuse is one of several kinds of elder abuse that involves the illegal or improper use of a senior’s assets or the abusive control of their financial assets by a trusted caregiver or caregiving organization. Seniors harmed by financial abuse can be left devastated – both financially and emotionally – which is why it’s so important for loved ones to keep a lookout for signs of elder financial abuse.
Nursing Home Sexual Abuse
Nursing home sexual abuse is inflicted on our vulnerable elderly population more often than we would like to admit. Nursing home sexual abuse happens when a caregiver or other staff violates the trust that they were given to care for an elderly person and takes advantage of that person sexually. The elderly are more likely to be abused because they are often vulnerable, easy targets. Compounding the problem, the perpetrators may feel that they have a better chance of getting away with the crime because the victim is isolated from their family or is easily confused. Family members should familiarize themselves with the signs of elder abuse.

Nursing Home Abuse & Negligence Lawsuits
Nursing home abuse is a real risk to millions of seniors every day. There are two main parties that can be held responsible for senior neglect and abuse:
- Nursing home administrators/owners may be found negligent in the care of their residents by failing to provide a safe and clean facility, healthy food and medications, emergency care, or adequate training/staffing of the caretakers they employ.
- Care facility staff may also be found negligent in the care of the residents they serve if they act in an unlawful or abusive manner; the most common forms of care taker abuse are sexual, physical, emotional, and financial.
