4,900 Youth ATVs Recalled After Fatal ATV Accident
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Lil Pick Up Inc. of Rowland Heights California recently announced the recall of the Rex110 and Sierra110 youth ATVs. The youth ATVs do not meet the maximum speed requirements for models designed for children ages 6 and older. In addition, the mechanical suspension does not comply with applicable safety standards, and the throttle can become stuck during operation, which creates a crash hazard. The ATVs’ footwell areas may also become excessively hot, which poses a risk of serious burns. Combined, these issues create a risk of severe injury or death.
The CPSC has received one report of a fatal incident involving the Rex110 ATV. In 2025, a 6-year-old boy died after a crash involving a Rex110 ATV while riding with a passenger.
